Paris Affaire, a Novel by Jean-Thomas Cullen

As the History pages will relate, this novel is a cloned version (2017) of a novel I originally wrote (On Saint Ronan Street) as a young enlisted soldier stationed with the U.S. Army in West Germany during the Cold War (1970s). I was pining for the past (New England, forever gone from my life by then) and wrote a nostalgic fantasy about a romance set in an Eastern college town to celebrate lost loves, old friends, and fond memories. We forget the reasons that drove us away, and forever celebrate the happier memories. The 1977 novel is On Saint Ronan Street, which went unpublished for over 40 years. More in the History pages…

As Noted in History Pages: My 2019 Paris novel Paris Affaire (also briefly titled The Bells of Notre Dame) is powerfully rooted in my long ago teenage poetry and one very special 1976ish novel. The novel On Saint Ronan Street, 1976 is a nostalgic New Haven love story written by me as a lonely, homesick young soldier stationed far from home in West Germany during the Cold War. The three poetry volumes (my collected even older Teen, YA, and NA poetry) authored by my two identical fictional heroes (Jon Harney in the New Haven love story, Marc Fontbleu in the same story decades later set in Paris).
