11. MY NAME IS

(hospital workers)

Thank you for being so friendly.
It is cold to deal with technicians.
Let me take off my uniform, girl,
and you yours; let us look deep.

I am the continent-conscious,
The lost on highways, the walker by night.

Who are you?
      Whose companion are you,
And what do you desire?

      My name is
                  Who are you?

Amazon e-book page Thank you for reading. If you love it, tell your friends. Please post a favorable review at Amazon, Good Reads, and other online resources. If you want to thank the author, you may also buy a copy for the low price of a cup of coffee. It's called Read-a-Latte: similar (or lower) price as a latte at your favorite coffeeshop, but the book lasts forever while the beverage is quickly gone. Thank you (JTC). PS: I wrote most of these poems (except the title poem, October Leaf) as a teenager, so I published them under the pseudonym A. T. Nager.
