Afterthoughts

As I mentioned earlier, a leading cosmology expert at a U.S. university read an early précis of my paper and called it 'compelling'.

Before quickly hanging up the e-mail phone (so to speak), he added that “I prefer to stick with the Standard Model.”

Had we been able to converse a moment longer, I could have assured him that “I have not come to destroy the Standard Model but to fulfill it” (paraphrasing the words of a person far more famous than I am not). But I understand: his time was precious, and he could not afford to involve himself in a long discussion with an unknown person (me), in a potentially time consuming discussion. I'm sure he weighed the odds that most likely, though he found it 'compelling,' there would be a few land mines that would sink the whole ship or theory. Totally understandable.

My hope is that, in carefully and politely approaching scientists in this field, a few will have the time and interest to dig in and follow my train of thought. I fully understand if you do not (if you are even still reading at this point). It's all good!

It goes without saying that not only must we always keep a stiff upper lip, but we must also maintain a strong sense of humor; and the resulting laughter is mutually contradictory (a stiffly quivering upper lip?); Oh well: for another day, another paper…). Please keep smiling, and let’s have fun with this.

My new Exogravitation (‘exograv’) concept does not change the Standard Model but extends it iteratively, and I believe explains a number of phenomena (Accelerated Expansion, Dark Matter) more completely while dismissing the notion of Dark Energy as an inadequate, ad hoc black box solution that violates the Laws of Thermodynamics. If this Dark Energy were to exist, where has it been hiding? Or is it created e nihilo? My gravitational (exogravitation) idea violates no scientific laws and brings a quantum of clarity.

Hubble and others in the 1920s definitively proved that our galaxy is not the entire universe, laying open a sense of unfathomable vastness that is enshrined in the lintel above the entrance at Mount Palomar Observatory (a number of stars with so many zeroes that it is hard for the eyes to encompass). Since then, we know that the number of galaxies far exceeds the number of stars recognized even around 1950. Today, we should reach for Cantorian infinities, and imagine limitless structures upon structures without end. There will certainly be relative boundedness to comfort us, if only in the limits of iterations when these architectures approach the impossible task of being imagined. Perhaps even number theorists can step in and help in quantifying this macrocosmology.
